ADV FILMS ANNOUNCES CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL: HEY DUDE

SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER AND IN STORES FROM 19th JUNE 2006

LONDON, UK, 9th May 2006 - ADV Films, the leading producer-distributor of anime in the U.K., sends you back to high school, but not like any school you remember! The hip new comedy series continues with its second installment, Cromartie High School: Hey Dude, rocks the UK on 19th June 2006! With giant gorillas, a robot with an identity crisis, and a school full of brain-damaged delinquents, this is one school so far off the league tables, there are NO special measures that can save it!

Produced by Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Kill Bill vol.1) and TV Tokyo (Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Neon Genesis Evangelion) and based on the wildly popular manga by Eiji Nonaka, Cromartie High School ventures forth into the deranged and wacked-out world of the infamous school for delinquents. Packed to the brim with crazy humor, pithy puns, political satire, and characters you’ll love to despise, Cromartie High School will leave your brain fried and your funny bone sore.

What The Press Said:
"... so utterly bonkers that it's amazing ... Cromartie High School is as mad as a box of frogs on LSD. It's also absolutely hilarious ... A fabulous sample of Japanese surreality." Leah Holmes, SFX Magazine

"... relentlessly deadpan ... offbeat ... uniquely Japanese ... hilarious" Matt Kamen, NEO Magazine

The Story:
What are the dumbass delinquents of Cromartie to do? Their robot classmate Mechazawa is feeling blue. Seems his little brother keeps getting stepped on, which isn’t surprising since he’s the size of a tea canister. Hayashida’s baseball team might lift his spirits-if they can ever find their way out of the woods and onto an actual field. Add a rival gang with handpuppet leaders and a crowd-phobic hijacker on their class field trip, and you have the sophomore volume of Cromartie High School!

ADV FILMS ANNOUNCES ELFEN LIED - VECTOR THREE

SCI-FI HORROR CONTINUES TO HACK BLOODY SWATHE THROUGH STORES 19th JUNE 2006

LONDON, UK, 9th MAY 2006 - ADV Films, the leading producer-distributor of anime in the U.K., is very pleased to announce that the UNCUT UK release of bloody scifi-horror anime Elfen Lied - Vector Three. The orgy of violence wrapped in pink satin continues unabated when the sci-fi horror spectacle hits stores 19th June 2006!

Lucy, a beautiful young mutant, is bred by the government to be the ultimate weapon. Armed with unfathomable powers, she escapes her handlers, but loses her memory in the process. Fortunately, our young waif is taken in by two well-meaning students. Now, with government killers on her trail, the disposition of a five year old, and a hair trigger for ultra-violence, Lucy and her young friends must unravel the dark secret of her legacy before it’s too late.

Elfen Lied showcases the beautiful character designs and mind-bending animation fans have come to expect from ADV Films. It’s the story line, however, featuring the dichotomy of a sweet young girl and blood-soaked violence, which has caught fans’ attention. Provocative yet tantalizing, Elfen Lied is thoroughly unsettling.

What The Press Said:
"brutally violent, sexually provocative" New York Times
"the violence in Elfen Lied...far outstrips the controversial Gantz... an exceedingly dark study of the horrors human beings are capable of inflicting on others" Leah Holmes, SFX

"manages to excite, amuse and shock in equal measure ... entertaining and thought-provoking" Matt Kamen, NEO
"Often terrifyingly beautiful, Elfen Lied achieves a rare feat in anime, as it takes those extreme adult tendencies so often associated to the form and exploits them within a compelling action and drama series." Dave Foster, DVD Times

The Story:
Does time heal all wounds? Or are some cuts so profound that the passing of the years only makes them deeper? No one knows better than Lucy, the horn-headed outcast forced to kill by genetics and circumstance, and Nana, dismembered by Lucy and left to die, who’s made a long journey on artificial limbs to exact her revenge. But although Lucy/Nyu’s dark past doesn’t excuse her staggering body count, it does explain it. In volume three, the pieces of her mysterious puzzle begin to fall into place and shed light on her murderous ways, and opening a narrow window into the memories Kohta has so carefully blocked.
