Full Story
Anime director Mamoru Hosoda has announced that he will returning to the directing chair in 2018 with 'Mirai' along with longtime collaborators Studio Chizu (founded by Hosoda in 2011). Variety.com reports the film’s synopsis:
"Mirai" follows a 4-year old boy who is struggling to cope with the arrival of a little sister in the family, until things turn magical. A mysterious garden in the backyard of the boy’s home becomes a gateway allowing the child to travel back in time and encounter his mother as a little girl and his great-grandfather as a young man. These fantasy-filled adventures allow the child to change his perspective and help him become the big brother he was meant to be.
The film will be received at the Cannes Film Festival at around the same time as its general release and will be represented by a team including Yohann Comte, former deputy head of sales at Gaumont, who represented for The Boy and The Beast when it was released.
