Date: 2004 December 14 18:40

Posted by

I've just received the details for AyaCon 5, the next edition of the successful UK anime and manga convention which always proves popular. AyaCon 5 will be held from 19-21 August 2005. Their venue will be the Warwick Arts Centre (University of Warwick near Coventry).

The convention will have use of the entire Arts Centre and extra faclities including a bar, restaurant and additional conference rooms, along with the full nightclub facilities in the nearby Students' Union for two parties on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

Full Story

Following the success of AmeCon using University Of Leicester facilities, along with UK anime convention attendance growing (with the last AyaCon being fully booked) I think they have made a good choice of venues, especially considering how tricky it can be finding a suitable sized and affordable venue to host an anime convention. After reading about all the faclities at the Warwick Arts Centre, AyaCon rightly state it's the largest and best-equipped venue for any UK anime convention to date.

The Otaku News Crew look forward to hearing more details about AyaCon as they become available, we will certainly register as members. We're also pondering who they will have as a guest of honour, the last AyaCon had Fred and Sarah from MegaTokyo, who both proved to be great guests.

Press release as follows:
