UK fans of Japanese culture should head over to Durham from the 5th to the 7th of September 2008 to enjoy the Festival of Japan, which will have lot of fun events including a cosplay masquerade, traditional taiko drumming, koto playing, martial arts demonstrations, butoh dance, and even some geisha and maiko!

Festival of Japan, Durham Botanic Gardens
This years Festival of Japan will be taking place at the Botanic Gardens in Durham from 5th to 7th September. Visitors can look forward to a host of cultural activities including koto playing, taiko drumming, martial arts demonstrations, butoh dance, food stalls and the chance to meet a real geisha and maiko!
In addition to the other activities, there will be a cosplay masquerade which will be judged by a panel including the geisha and maiko.
