FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ADV ACQUIRES LE CHEVALIER D'EON FOR THE UK

NEW HISTORICAL EPIC FROM PRODUCTION I.G. licensed for uk release

LONDON, UK, 2nd November 2006

ADV Films, the leading producer-distributor of anime in the U.K., is proud to announce the acquisition of hit animated series Le Chevalier D'Eon, in a deal with Shochiku, Japan's leading entertainment conglomerate.

Under terms of the deal, ADV has acquired UK video, TV and VOD rights, although no release date has been set. "We are extremely pleased at the chance to bring such a prestigious title to the U.K.," said Sharon Papa, Managing Director of ADV Films. "The title is ideal for the U.K. audience, and we look forward to doing it justice in this territory."

Shochiku's high profile gothic mystery series Le Chevalier D'Eon is directed by acclaimed director Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Get Backers, Rurouni Kenshin) from an original story by Tow Ubukata (Fafner), who is also credited as story supervisor. Still airing in Japan on WOWOW, the animation production is from Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Otogi Zoshi, Cromartie High School).

The Story:
D'Eon de Beaumont is a handsome intellect who actually lived in the 18th century. D'Eon was known as a diplomat who traveled around various countries under the French king's command. But his most peculiar trait was that he managed to pass himself off as a woman. The core of the story is based on the mysterious hero and the historical facts. Truth has been erased in the darkness of history - a great epic that far exceeds imagination is finally revealed in all its intricate detail.
