ADV FILMS ANNOUNCES ELFEN LIED - VECTOR TWO

SCI-FI HORROR CONTINUES TO HACK BLOODY SWATHE THROUGH STORES 17th APRIL 2006

LONDON, UK, 24th FEBRUARY 2006 - ADV Films, the leading producer-distributor of anime in the U.K., is very pleased to announce the UNCUT UK release of the second volume in the bloodiest, most disturbing, most mesmerizing anime series since Gantz: Elfen Lied - Vector Two. The orgy of violence wrapped in pink satin continues when the sci-fi horror spectacle hits stores 17th April 2006.

Lucy, a beautiful young mutant, is bred by the government to be the ultimate weapon. Armed with unfathomable powers, she escapes her handlers, but loses her memory in the process. Fortunately, our young waif is taken in by two well-meaning students. Now, with government killers on her trail, the disposition of a five year old, and a hair trigger for ultra-violence, Lucy and her young friends must unravel the dark secret of her legacy before it's too late.

Elfen Lied showcases the beautiful character designs and mind-bending animation fans have come to expect from ADV Films. It's the story line, however, featuring the dichotomy of a sweet young girl and blood-soaked violence, which has caught fans' attention. Provocative yet tantalizing, Elfen Lied is thoroughly unsettling.

What The Press Said:

"brutally violent, sexually provocative" New York Times

"the violence in Elfen Lied...far outstrips the controversial Gantz... an exceedingly dark study of the horrors human beings are capable of inflicting on others" Leah Holmes, SFX

"manages to excite, amuse and shock in equal measure ... entertaining and thought-provoking" Matt Kamen, NEO

"Often terrifyingly beautiful, Elfen Lied achieves a rare feat in anime, as it takes those extreme adult tendencies so often associated to the form and exploits them within a compelling action and drama series." Dave Foster, DVD Times

The Story:

At the core of a conspiracy for a new world order lives a mutant girl who's made an army's worth of enemies. Protected only by a couple of college kids, Kohta and Yuka, the horn-headed Nyu is pursued by those who would destroy her and those who would use her to destroy humanity. But, as her caregivers catch glimpses of Nyu's past as the vicious Lucy, will they continue to risk their lives to protect hers? Is Lucy's trail of carnage somehow connected to Kohta's own dark past? It won't take much to upset this fragile peace. Between the bubble baths and the bloodbaths, the predators and the puppies, the world of Elfen Lied is a world of pure innocence and explosive chaos. When the dust settles, the future of the human race depends on one horn-headed girl.

Elfen Lied - Vector Two (RRP £19.99) is a DVD-only release, including three episodes in English 5.1- and Japanese 5.1-language, with English subtitles. Extras include: video segments with production art and character work from the show; clean opening and closing animations; and ADV Previews.
