Following on from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Limited Edition Delux UK Blu-ray the good folks from Manga Entertainment UK have just announced that they're going to release the the title as a standard edition on DVD and Blu-ray.
It's due out on Monday 6th August 2018. We've noticed that the running time for every edition is 1337 minutes long. The elite number favoured by hackers. We're certain this is deliberate!

Following the successful launch of our amazing Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Deluxe Edition Blu-ray earlier this month, we're very pleased to announce that a standard edition is on its way - and is now available to pre-order!
>From 6th August, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 1st & 2nd GIG will be available on DVD & Blu-ray! Both formats will house episodes 1-52 across two cases, collected in a double-walled cardboard slipcase. Extras include interviews & trailers.

*Minor chapter stop issues present in the Deluxe have been amended for the Standard.

In the not so distant future, mankind has advanced to a state where complete body transplants from flesh to machine is possible. This allows for great increases in both physical and cybernetic prowess and blurring the lines between the two worlds. However, criminals can also make full use of such technology, leading to new and sometimes, very dangerous crimes. In response to such innovative new methods, the Japanese Government has established Section 9, an independently operating police unit which deals with such highly sensitive crimes.
Led by Daisuke Aramaki and Motoko Kusanagi, Section 9 deals with such crimes over the entire social spectrum, usually with success. However, when faced with a new A level hacker nicknamed "The Laughing Man," the team is thrown into a dangerous cat and mouse game, following the hacker's trail as it leaves its mark on Japan.
