Production I.G talks at HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market 2015

London, 15th October, 2015 - Director Naoyoshi Shiotani and Animation Producer Rui Kuroki, from Production I.G, are making their first European appearance at London’s HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market 2015! Production I.G are one of the world’s best-known Japanese animation studios, the company behind such anime productions as Ghost in the Shell, Kuroko no Basket, Blood+, Psycho-Pass, the animated sequences from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Volume 1, and many more with their works having international renown to the point of having featured at the Cannes film festival. At HYPER JAPAN, the director and producer behind several of their most recent big hits will be giving talks throughout the course of the event on different aspects of the animation industry in Japan.

Naoyoshi Shiotani has worked on many projects at I.G as an animator, animation director and director, attracting attention doing storyboard work on Blood + before making his directorial debut with the award-winning Tokyo Marble Chocolate, which was produced as part of the commemoration of Production I.G’s 20th anniversary. He’s more recently been the director of both the Psycho-Pass TV series and movie, as well as the movie Blood-C: The Last Dark amongst other projects. Rui Kuroki has been involved as an animation producer many notable I.G titles, including Kuroko no Basket, the recent Ghost in the Shell: ARISE PYROPHORIC CULT as well as the aforementioned Psycho-Pass movie.

Naoyoshi Shiotani will discuss the artistic process behind the creation of an anime work, while Rui Kuroki will focus on his own experience, making it clear what an animation producer’s role in a work actually entails. Each talk will be illustrated with some candid snapshots of the I.G offices and production studio to give attendees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get to know the anime industry from the inside out. This an incredibly intimate behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a world-class Japanese animation studio, one which anime fans can’t afford to miss.
