SAN FRANCISCO, CA-Digital manga subscription service Azuki will begin releasing eBook editions of its exclusive manga series on BookWalker, Amazon, Apple Books, and Google Play Books. Volume 1 of My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files and Volume 1 of Turning the Tables on the Seatmate Killer! are both available for pre-order right now on BookWalker and will go on sale on March 23. Amazon, Apple, and Google pre-orders will be available in the next few days.
My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files by Natsumi Ito is a beautifully drawn historical mystery/romance series. In 1930s Japan, female detective Mitsuko solves cases alongside her handsome and perceptive assistant Saku. This critically acclaimed feminist detective story delivers classic Sherlock Holmes-style sleuthing with a cast of lovable characters, and features detailed end notes by translator Samuel Messner. Anime News Network calls it "a well-put-together piece of historical fiction in every regard."
Turning the Tables on the Seatmate Killer! by Miyakobachi and based on the light novel series by Aresanzui is a fast and flirty high school romantic comedy. Yui has a reputation as the notorious "Seatmate Killer": any boy who sits next to her falls in love, only to inevitably have their heart broken. But her new Seatmate Yuuki is so clueless and deadpan that he seems totally immune to her charms, and soon Yui finds herself dealing with some feelings of her own. Manga Mavericks calls it "a really charming rom-com" with "likable and relatable" characters.
