On one of Joe's misadventures, he discovered a lunatic in a straight jacket, babbling something about pressure points on the body and how to use them to make people blackout or at least eat more cabbage, this motley character was also obsessed with a sub genre of alternative folk music. He said his name was The Dave, rather than hand him into the authorities or an institute for the violent and criminally insane Joe figured it would be a better idea to keep The Dave as playmate for Spike.
