Hitachi Unveils New Cyber Desk Clerk

As some of you may have noticed, we rather like our robots over here at Otaku News. So imagine our glee when we discovered that Hitachi and Hitachi building services are installing a new robotic desk clerk at the Grand Tokyo Bay Hotel.

The robot, called the Excellent Mobility and Interactive Existence as Workmate (or EMIEW for short), will be working from March 6th to the 12th and demonstrating some of Hitachi's latest releases in voice recognition, speech, and movement to journalists and guests alike.

While impressive, it is currently unknown how EMIEW will deal with drunk sallerymen, or over-amourous couples requesting rooms 'by the hour'. Hopefuly the results will be available on the 12th.
