Full Story

Feel like you’re not getting enough Adult Swim? Anime News Network has announced that the popular late night channel, which takes over Cartoon Network at 11:00 pm EST Saturdays through Thursdays, will launch Adult Swim Fix on its website. Starting March 7, 2006, fans can get their, well... fix online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Adult Swim made an impact among anime fans in its early as a late Saturday night programming block on Cartoon Network when it featured the sci-fi series Cowboy Bebop in its original line-up among syndicated shows such as Family Guy and Home Movies and original shows such as Sealab 2021 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Since then, Adult Swim has come to appear almost every night of the week (Fridays remain dedicated to regular Cartoon Network programming), and more anime series have appeared on the channel. In addition to Cowboy Bebop, which continues to gain high ratings even while in repeats and later time slots, Adult Swim has featured such shows as various Gundam series, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist and most recently, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Adult Swim Fix will feature seven archival episodes of various shows, which will be available at all times at their website. Premiere episodes will debut on Fridays, two days before they air on television. No word yet as to which shows will be appearing on the new webcast, or whether they’ll be anime or original Adult Swim shows.
