ADV FILMS ANNOUNCES APRIL 12 RELEASE DATES

HOUSTON, March 10, 2005 -ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce three exciting titles set to hit the streets on April 12, 2005!

SAIYUKI DOUBLE BARREL COLLECTION VOLUME 2

Slaying demons, past and present
"History has never been so much fun. Viva la difference!" -- Dave Halverson, PLAY Magazine

The hottest demon hunters in anime march onward with the release of the brand new Saiyuki: Double Barrel Collection Volume 2, eagerly waiting to be unleashed on April 12, 2005.

Based on the original 16th-century Chinese novel Xiyouji by Wu Cheng-En, Saiyuki first began to take shape with an animated version of the tale in the late 1960s. The current incarnation features a colorful cast of characters based on the popular manga by Kazuya Minekura and features the production work of TV Tokyo (Noir), Dentsu Inc. (Final Fantasy Unlimited) and Studio Pierrot (The Super Milk-chan Show, Naruto).

The Sanzo Party heads further into the thick of the demon plague terrorizing the Earth, and dangers threaten them every step of the way. No matter how far west they go, the group’s past is always one step behind! But when the four heroes are forced to camp out during a storm, the closed atmosphere brings out the horror of long-buried memories. The tangled pasts of Hakkai, Gojyo, Sanzo and Goku are fraught with murder, lies and a bloodthirsty quest for vengeance!

E’S OTHERWISE: MINDBENDER, VOLUME 2

The mind is a terrible thing to waste.
"The story is so addicting that it is surreal. It also keeps you glued to your seat for the entire run time of the DVD." -- Animesou

The psychic onslaught continues as the second volume of the new hit series E’S Otherwise (pronounced "s" otherwise"), Mindbender, hits the streets on April 12, 2005.

A psychically charged, high-energy adventure focused around the future of human evolution and its possible consequences, E’S Otherwise is based on the hit comic series that original appeared in G Fantasy Monthly. The spectacular, state of the art animation was directed by Masami Shimoda (Macross 7, Saber Marionette J) and produced by Studio Pierrot (Saiyuki, Naruto).

Twelve powerful corporations run the entire planet. And the most powerful company-Ashurum-will do anything they can to maintain control. To subject the renegade city of Gald, they will infiltrate a cadre of enemy guerillas. When one of their prized psychic agents goes missing, no cost is too high to return him to their dark fold-whether that means sending in a cyborg assassin, reprogramming one of his friends, or enlisting two newer, even more powerful psychics into the company.

E’S Otherwise, Mindbender ($29.98 SRP) is a DVD-only release containing five complete episodes presented in English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include: clean opening and closing animations, Actor PSI profiles, production sketches and ADV previews.

WRATH OF DAIMAJIN

"A super cool series that'll keep you amazed for hours!" -- Sandy Mason, Fright X Magazine

The tyrannical forces of evil did not learn their lesson the first time around! When you prey on the weak and helpless, the enormous stone guardian Daimajin is ready to dole out rock-hard punishment in a seriously destructive way! It’s time for divine wrath to take its toll as the brand new digitally remastered and anamorphic edition of Wrath of Daimajin hits the streets on April 12, 2005!

Packed with sword fighting mayhem and giant monster mass destruction, Wrath of Daimajin is the second of three samurai vs. monster classics from the 1960s. With breathtaking sets and costumes liberated from the sets of other classic samurai pictures, and a full-size mechanical Daimajin prop, this epic feature sets the benchmark for all other giant monster in feudal Japan epics to follow. And at only $19.98 SRP, this magical masterpiece from the heyday of Japanese cinema is now a stone-cold bargain as well!

The titanic stone statue Daimajin is back with a vengeance! Evildoers beware, for whenever the oppressed cry to the heavens for salvation, and innocent lives are threatened by the seeds of evil, the stone champion of justice will awaken and punish those who do not believe in his power... He is the spirit of vengeance, and the wrath of God given form. He is DAIMAJIN!
