Sci-Fi-London Anime On Tour

Following on from the successful Sci-Fi-London Festival at the beginning of this month, the UK's only international sci-fi and fantasy film festival will be on tour throughout February and March.

Lucky otaku in Edinburgh, Liverpool, York and Exeter will get a chance to see the anime all nighter which includes Parasite Dolls and the RahXephon Movie.

SCI-FI-LONDON FILM FESTIVAL KICKS OFF
UK TOUR IN EDINBURGH

The UK’s only international science fiction and fantasy film festival is on tour throughout February and March 2005.

After its sell-out London dates, highlights from this well-loved festival arrive at the EDINBURGH Cameo cinema on 18-20 February 2005 before moving on to the following key venues:

- LIVERPOOL, Picturehouse at Fact: 25-27 February

- YORK, City Screen: 4-6 March
- EXETER, Picturehouse: 11-13 March

The SCI-FI-LONDON tour selection includes PRIMER (Best Feature 2005), CUBE ZERO,
a programme of SHORT FILMS and the ANIMÉ and MATRIX all-nighters.

The line-up is as follows:

PRIMER (SCI-FI-LONDON 2005 best feature USA 2004, Dir: Shane Carruth)

Set in the industrial park fringes of an unnamed city two young engineers work by day for a large corporation while conducting extracurricular experiments on their own time in a garage.

Eventually, their experiments lead them to discover that their prototype machine can alter time. Only problems are the loops, paradoxes, loose ends and doubles it creates. If you can travel through time, but not without consequence, should you?

This is an amazing film from first time director Shane Carruth. It is intelligent, thought-provoking and wonderfully paced. Fully expecting the audience to keep up, this is science fiction storytelling at its finest. Winner of Best Drama at Sundance 2004.

CUBE ZERO (Canada 2004, Dir: Ernie Barbarash)

Welcome to the world of Cube, The first CUBE (1997, Dir: Vincenzo Natali) was a razor-sharp cult classic, while the CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE (2002, Dir: Andrzej Sekula) offered gruesome gore. So where does the third instalment, CUBE ZERO, take us? – why back to the beginning, of course...

CUBE ZERO is a clever, creepy, and inventive thriller. Fans of the series will be thrilled to learn about the ‘other side’ of the Cube's purpose. Do we finally get answers to all the questions? This movie is the darkest and most sinister of the franchise.

ALL-NIGHTERS (screenings start at midnight)
The SCI-FI-LONDON all-nighters have become legendary. Those attending these film marathons are helped through the night by complimentary coffee at the intervals, along with sleep-defying energy boosts kindly donated by REDBULL and BEN & JERRYS.

Try our MATRIX ALL-NIGHTER where we screen all 3 Matrices (!) back-to-back with their animated prequel, Animatrix.
