Manga Entertainment UK to Release Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in the UK

The good folks from Manga Entertainment UK have sent us details of their latest acquisition. They now have the UK home video rights for Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. From April 2017, they'll be releasing the original Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Dino Charge and Power Rangers Dino Super Charge.

Recently Manga Entertainment UK have released various children's movies, including the original Pokemon movies (along with more recent releases such as Pokemon The Movie: Hoopa And The Clash Of Ages), and the original 1980's Transformers Movie (in a newly remastered edition). We suspect that the nostalgic market for adults wishing to relive their childhood and parents wishing to show their kids what TV used to be like has produced promising sales for these titles.

We also think that the upcoming 2017 live action Hollywood remake/reboot of The Power Rangers will result in good sales for adults wanting to rediscover the show and kids who want to see the original source material.

SABAN’S MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS!

5 January 2017, London, England - Manga Entertainment is excited to announce it has licensed Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for home video release in the UK, as well as Power Rangers Dino Charge and Power Rangers Dino Super Charge!

Beginning April 2017, Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will be available in the UK on DVD in three Complete Season Collections, followed by Power Rangers Dino Charge and Dino Super Charge later in the year.

Saban Brands and Lionsgate will also release Saban’s Power Rangers feature film on March 24, 2017. Now UK fans can re-experience the origins of the international sensation while introducing it to a new generation of fans.

In 1993 two unsuspecting astronauts unleashed the greatest evil Earth had ever known: the heinous witch Rita Repulsa. In the 20 years since, with each new villain more sinister than the last, the citizens of Earth have relied on the Power Rangers to protect them. As a superhero team comprising "teenagers with attitude", the Power Rangers must use their individual strengths combined with the virtue of teamwork to vanquish their foes, keeping Earth safe for another day.

Millions of years ago, an intergalactic bounty hunter named Sledge tried desperately to capture the 10 mysterious Energems, each capable of filling whomever possessed them with incredible powers. Keeper, the wise and ancient guardian of the Energems, entrusted each Energem to the Earth’s mightiest beasts, the dinosaurs, for protection. Centuries later after the dinosaurs went extinct, some of the Energems were discovered by humans. Those who proved worthy gained the ability to morph into Power Rangers.
