The good folks from Hyper Japan Festival have sent us details of their main event for the year. This summer Japanese beverage giants Suntory will be there to bring a taste of izakaya culture to the festival.

Hyper Japan is set to run from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July 2025 at Olympia Events in London UK.

London, UK - This July, HYPER JAPAN Festival welcomes a brand-new addition to the event floor: SUNTORY Highball Bar. For the first time ever, visitors will have the chance to enjoy an authentic taste of Japan's beloved izakaya drinking culture right in the heart of London.

From 18-20 July 2025, the bar will take pride of place at the Grand Hall, Olympia London. It will offer visitors a refreshing menu of classic Japanese whisky highballs made with Suntory Whisky Toki and its popular Japanese pre-mixed canned alcohol brand, -196 (minus one-nine-six) all in a beautifully designed space inspired by traditional Japanese pubs and decorated with elegant Sakura trees.

Suntory, the pioneer behind the highball boom in Japan, is known for transforming whisky culture with the famous Kaku Highball. At HYPER JAPAN Festival, visitors will get to savour this legacy with two cocktails made with Suntory Whisky Toki:

• Toki Highball - A refreshing mix of Toki and soda water, best served chilled and garnished with grapefruit peel.
• Toki Cherry High - A long, fruity and refreshing twist on the classic whisky highball - blending the smooth character of Toki with vibrant cherry notes for a perfectly balanced, effervescent experience.

Prices start from just £6.5-£8.5, making this a must-try experience whether you are a whisky fan or curious newcomer.

Discover the -196 Booth: Bold Fruit Flavour Meets Cutting-Edge Craft

ⒸSuntory Global Spirits
Alongside the bar, visitors can explore the -196 booth, located directly in front of the Highball Bar. -196 is Suntory's innovative alcohol ready-to-drink brand that uses its proprietary freeze crush infusion technology. This unique process freezes the whole fruit by using liquid nitrogen at -196°C and the frozen zest, pulp and juice are then crushed into powder and infused with shochu and vodka to create a bold fruit flavour.

Two flavours will be available:

• Lemon - The crisp, citrus explosion of the original -196.
• Grapefruit - A juicy, bold twist perfect for summer sipping.

Visitors can try both in a free tasting session at the booth, which will also feature photo opportunities with the eye-catching Japanese summer-themed backdrop. Once they have found their favourite, they can head over to the bar for a full, chilled serve garnished with fresh lemon for £6.5.
