The good folks from the Japan Foundation London have sent us details of a piano concert by Kikuchi Ryota. The pianist is popular on YouTube and is set to perform iconic melodies from anime and game music.
Kikuchi will be playing at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham on Tuesday 8th August 2023 at 12:30. Then St James's Church, Piccadilly in London on Wednesday 9th August 2023 at 19:00 and finally at Yamaha Music London on Thursday 10th August at 16:00. All events are free to attend, with booking required for the London ones.

This August - KIKUCHI Ryota,

is set to captivate UK audiences with his enchanting performance!
Trained as a classical pianist, award-winning KIKUCHI Ryota is known for his exceptional musical contributions to anime and games, including his piano performances for the melodies of Spy x Family, and his pieces in I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.
With a strong online presence, he has gained a massive following on Twitter and YouTube (595K channel subscribers). His viral videos, in which he performs his own arrangements of well-known music and in doing so practically reinvents the original pieces, demonstrate his incredible musical talent and have touched the hearts of millions.

KIKUCHI Ryota
KIKUCHI started playing the piano at the age of four. He completed his education at Kinutachi College of Music Junior and Senior High School, and pursued his studies in the Department of Music at Nihon College of Art and its graduate school. He has won numerous competition prizes, including the fifth prize at the 2008 Asia International Music Competition, the third prize at the 5th Burkhardt International Music Competition, and the second prize at the 12th "Great Wall Cup" International Music Competition. His exceptional skills led him to perform at the 82nd Yomiuri Newcomer Concert. He was also awarded the Best Newcomer Prize at the 30th Oikawa Classical Music Office Newcomer Audition. KIKUCHI actively engages in providing music for TV programmes, films, anime music, games and Tokyo Olympics commercials. He showcases his diverse repertoire and performance abilities on Twitter and YouTube, where his videos have gained over 200 million views and attracted more than 595,000 channel subscribers. KIKUCHI also plays the keyboard and composes music for his band, Anoatari.
