Geneon To Release Star Ocean EX

A press release from Geneon Animation USA has announced the immenent release of Star Ocean EX on DVD. The series, based on a game for the Sony Playstation, follows Claude Kenni, a crewmember on the spaceship Calnus, who is transported to an unfamiliar alien world and attempts to unlock the secret of a mysterious sattelite, will be available from January 4th.

LONG BEACH, CA - With the universe on the brink of destruction, the chance meeting of two people will set in motion a series of events that will bring about the wrath of the gods and their devlish advisors in Star Ocean Ex Volume One, on DVD January 4 from Geneon Entertainment. Based on Azuma Mayumi's manga adaptation of the PlayStation® game Star Ocean: The Second Story, Star Ocean Ex is a lush and rich realization of a world that fans have come to cherish. Brought to life by Kenichi Kanemaki (Agent Aika, Ai Yori Aoshi), director Hiroshi Watanabe (Slayers Movie, Bandit King Jing, Orphen) and animation Studio Deen (You're Under Arrest, Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X) the star-crossed tale of fate and destiny is certain to enchant not only fans of the game, but all fans of science-fiction and fantasy. Star Ocean Ex Volume One is available as a single disc for a suggested retail price of $29.98, and as a collector's box with enough room to fit all subsequent volumes of the series for a suggested retail price of $39.98. STAR OCEAN EX - Volume 1
Claude and his father are on their mission to investigate the unexplored planet, Mirokinia. When they arrive at the planet, Claude mysteriously gets transported to another planet called Expel. Wandering around in the woods trying to find a way back home, he saves a girl named Rena from a monster with his phase gun. Rescued by him, she tells him that he is the Legendary Warrior of Light whom she's been looking for. In search of Sorcery Globe, which is believed to be the source of evils, Claude and Rena set off on their journey that will determine the world's fate.
