Full Story
Press release as follows:

CARTOON NETWORK LOOKS TO ADV FILMS ACQUIRING ‘THE SUPER MILK-CHAN SHOW' FOR THE NETWORK'S ‘ADULT SWIM' BLOCK IN NOVEMBER 2004

HOUSTON, October 18, 2004 – Looking for exciting new programming to augment its successful late-night "Adult Swim" animation programming block, Cartoon Network has acquired "The Super Milk-Chan Show," an irreverent, politically-incorrect anime series from ADV Films, which it will begin airing in November 2004.

Mixing live-action with animation, this whacked-out series centers on the adventures of Milk, a selfish, foul-mouthed female superhero with no real superpowers. Far from the typical A-list superhero, Milk is assisted by an obsolete, abused robot and a slug that drinks too much. She also has a mechanical dog with a bad habit of relieving itself at inopportune moments. Produced by Studio Pierrot (GTO and Saiyuki), "The Super Milk-Chan Show" is currently available on DVD from ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of Japanese animation in the U.S.

"We're excited by the opportunity to showcase ‘The Super Milk-Chan Show' in Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The network, and especially Adult Swim, is an ideal destination for the series and will introduce this incredibly off-beat series to a whole new audience," says John Ledford, founder and CEO of ADV Films.

"Adult Swim" is Cartoon Network's highly rated block of animation for adults, airing Sunday-Thursday from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. (ET/PT). Adult Swim is #1 in its time period on all of ad-supported basic cable with adults 18-24 and adults 18-34. Adult Swim features original comedies including "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," "Sealab 2021" and "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law;" popular favorites like "Family Guy" and "Futurama;" and dynamic action-adventure shows like "Cowboy Bebop" and "Inuyasha."

Cartoon Network, currently seen in 87.1 million U.S. homes and 160 countries around the world, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s 24-hour, ad-supported cable service offering the best in animated entertainment. Since its launch in 1992, Cartoon Network has remained one of ad-supported cable's highest-rated networks. Cartoon Network's Web site is located at http://CartoonNetwork.com.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.
