A Last Minute Anime Convention for London!

Date: Sunday 6th March 2005 [22:07] | Posted By: Voxie

I say last minute, because anime conventions are usually given advance notice months in advance. However with the RHUL Anime & Manga convention, it's being held in little over two weeks from now! Held by the society at Royal Holloway University, the event is open to the public. And despite the late notice, it seems they've got everything set up, including anime showings, gaming, a cosplay competition, a raffle, and on-site games including 'Hunt the Mews Mews!' and 'Find the Chibi'..! Representatives of ADV, TokyoPop and Manga Entertainment will also be there. And did we mention the on-the-door entrance fee is just a mere 1.50?? What more reason do you need?

There are rarely any events like this in the London area, so I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't 'do' conventions becuase they're too far!
Full Story
Time is obviously tight, and the event's website looks a rushjob too, but overall the event does seem well organised! Anyone interested in having a stall should contact the peeps ASAP at K.Collins@rhul.ac.uk or menstrual_miko@hotmail.com as places are very limited.

FULL PRESS RELEASE:

Konnichiwa, minna-san!
The RHUL Anime & Manga Society are currently planning a convention to encompass anime, gaming and sci fi! Set for Saturday, March 19th 2005, we will host a day encorporating series viewings (including Ranma 1/2), video gaming (PS2, Gamecube and a SNES), with second-hand stalls as well as representatives of major distributors, such as TokyoPop, Manga and ADV.

Stall space is currently avaliable, for a limited time! First come, first serve! At this point in time, space and support for the full day (11-6) will be 10. Please e-mail for further details.
The University is very centrally located (London), with numerous travel options. For more information about this, and other aspects of the convention, please see our website at http://www.su.rhul.ac.uk/socs/animemanga/convention/con_index.html

We would like to have an idea of numbers as soon as possible, so if you feel it likely that you are to attend, please RSVP to menstrual_miko@hotmail.com or K.Collins@rhul.ac.uk; also, any enquiries you may have can also be directed to these addresses.
We hope to see you all on March 19th!
