PSP Ghost In the Shell:SAC Game Details

Date: 2005 October 20th Thursday [15:40] | Posted By: Joe

UK fans of the Ghost In The Shell Standalone Complex Series should be pleased to hear that a game based on the anime will be released on PSP this Friday. Atari have sent us the details. The game sounds really good, not only do you get to play as the main cast members, each with different abilities, but you also get to command Tachikoma, that is surely worth the price of the game alone! You even get to train and customize them (*hums Tachikoma themetune* ^_-).
Full Story
Details as follows:

PSP Game - Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex

- Play Up to Six Players Wirelessly in the Latest Futuristic First Person Shooter from the ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Universe -

LYON, FRANCE – 30 August 2005 – Atari today announced the forthcoming European release of Bandai’s Ghost in the Shell®: Stand Alone ComplexTM for PSPTM (PlayStation®Portable) handheld entertainment system from Sony Computer Entertainment. Based on the critically-acclaimed anime series by the renowned manga artist and writer Masamune Shirow, this sci-fi first-person shooter offers Wireless multiplayer action for up to six players, including heated cooperative and competitive modes.

In the futuristic world of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, crime knows no limits. Gamers can face off against cyber-criminals as members of Section 9, an elite group of secret intelligence operatives tasked to keep technological terrorists at bay. Players must use "Major" Motoko Kusanagi's agility, her partner Batou's strength, the rookie Togusa's stealth, or Saito's sniper skills to unravel the mysteries of Berutarube.

"A central theme to the Ghost on the Shell series is looking at the future of mankind’s interaction with technology, so what better platform for the game than the state-of-the-art PlayStation Portable," said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. "Using the Wireless technology, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex provides gamers with one of the only FPS titles on PSP and a uniquely brilliant shooter experience."

In the game, players have the ability to hack into the minds of adversaries and temporarily control their actions to launch devastating attacks from within the enemy ranks. Combined with the wireless capabilities of PSP, the result is an exciting and original gameplay experience which makes full use of the advanced technology of PSP to engross gamers in a tense, futuristic world of hackers and cybernetic entities.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for PSP is scheduled for release across Europe this autumn.
