Japan Manga Tour

Date: 2005 August 4th Thursday [16:44] | Posted By: Joe

UK Travel company Japan Journeys have sent us details of their package holiday Japan Manga Tour a package departing from London to Tokyo. The highlights include a visit to the fantastic Ghibli Museum, the historical Meiji Shrine, the fashionable Harajuku and the Aladdin's cave of an anime store that is Mandarake.

All of the above places are worth visiting for one reason or another from the cultural value, to the outright wacky. The Otaku News Crew suggest you add the locations to your list of places to visit, for when you're in Tokyo next! ^_-

Press release as follows:

After this year’s fantastically successful Japan Manga Tour, Japan Journeys is again offering Manga and Anime fans a unique insider’s view of Japan with our Manga Tour 2006. Departing from London Heathrow on 23 March 2006 you’ll be able to experience the real Japan – the subways, the nightlife, the neon & the pop culture that makes Tokyo the world’s busiest, wildest, craziest non-stop megalopolis.

Highlights of the tour include a visit to the Ghibli Museum, designed by Japan’s top animator, Hayao Miyazaki (Academy Award winner for "Spirited Away"), guided tours of Tokyo including visits to Akihabara and Nakano Broadway– famous for dozens of anime and manga stores. Alongside the ultra-modern, you’ll also experience the traditional culture and sites of Tokyo.

The tour costs £1,145 per person and includes 6 nights hotel accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, return flights with Japan Airlines, airport transfers by private coach in Japan and the services of a Japan Journeys guide throughout. For further details, call 020 7766 5267 or visit www.japanjourneys.co.uk/manga.htm
