The Boy and The Beast UK DVD and Blu-ray Release Details

Date: 2017 July 20th Thursday [11:34] | Posted By: Joe

We've just heard from the good folks at StudioCanal that Mamoru Hosoda's The Boy and The Beast will finally be heading to DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on Monday 4th September 2017. The movie follows the adventures of Kyuta an abandoned boy who stumbles into the mythical world of beasts where he meets Kumatetsu the brash warrior. Kumatetsu takes Kyuta under his wing (shouldn't that be paw?) and adventure ensues.

You may be familiar with director Mamoru Hosoda other works, which include Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Wolf Children. We've seen this film and confirm if you like anything else by Hosoda you'll know exactly what to expect. You'll enjoy this!

As always you can pre-order the DVD and Blu-ray from Amazon.co.uk.

It should be noted that Manga Entertainment UK have announced that they'll be releasing a premium Hosoda Collection of his other movies.

The Boy and The Beast

STUDIOCANAL is pleased to announce that THE BOY AND THE BEAST arrives on Digital Download, DVD and Blu-ray on 4th September 2017. Pre-order now.

THE BOY AND THE BEAST tells the story of Kyuta, a young orphan boy living on the streets. One day, Kyuta loses his way and stumbles into the world of beasts, where he meets Kumatetsu, a warrior beast in search of the perfect apprentice. Kyuta becomes his disciple and, after a stormy beginning, the pair form a deep bond. But when a dark force threatens both worlds, their chance encounter becomes the ultimate test of strength, courage and friendship.

From award-winning Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children) and with a beautiful, seamless mix of classic hand-drawn animation and CGI, THE BOY AND THE BEAST is a heart-warming coming-of-age action fantasy tale that goes beyond your imagination.
